The Instructor (Eli Moore)

I am a self taught guitar player who learned how to play by reading a variety of technique and theory books as well as receiving my music endorsement from 2005-2007.  I received my Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in special education and have a Master’s degree in educational administration.

My whole life I thought I would be a teacher and a coach. I just never thought it would be in a subject area that was my passion and ultimate stress reliever.  The dream of a lifetime came true in 2004 when our building principal approached me about teaching some high students how to play the guitar at Chaparral High School.  Feeling less than confident on the matter, I respectfully declined the offer.  Our building principal had asked me to do this after watching my band play for her retirement party. To make a long story short, Dr. Mary Gill eventually convinced me to take on one class at the high school level in the following year to see how it might develop.

In four years time, my class load went from one to five full sections of guitar classes at a school of over two thousand students (Chaparral High School, Parker CO). Quickly students began to love playing, and I began to love teaching it.  Throughout my own learning how to play, receiving an endorsement in music, and learning as I taught my own students, I have developed what I believe to be the “easiest” way in addition to the “right” way, to learn how to play the guitar. I want to share some of the “easiest” theory tips and techniques to make it less stressful for you to learn. I believe my program offers the path of least resistence when learning how to play and believe my curriculum is extremely "user friendly". I taught guitar at Chaparral High School from 2004 to 2011. I left Chaparral shortly thereafter to build the Legend High School Guitar Program. I am a full time guitar instructor that offers three levels of guitar courses at our school. Kids really seem to love the classes so it got me to start thinking about expanding the program to other aspiring players in the Parker community. I am in my 27th year teaching and still have the fire and passion for teaching people how to play the guitar.

There are many books and videos out there that are unbelievable and I endorse many of them.  But, if you want to learn how to play now, and learn how to play correctly, you will love the Parker Guitar Academy and the book in which you will learn from. I wrote the book several years ago and got it copy written with the United States Copywright office in 2008. You will learn both rhythm and lead guitar technique coupled with only the most important and necessary musical theory.

Throughout my own learning, I have made many notes and changes that pertain to instruction and have perfected them into my daily teaching/curriculum. My instructional book will lead you on a path of least resistance and get you where you want to go quickly.  Anybody can learn how to play!  You can be a rhythm player, bass player, or lead guitar player.  The foundation you will need to get there is all in my instructional booklet that I have written and teach my high school students with. The book is included in your fee when you sign up for the Parker Guitar Academy.

The overall purpose is for each student to understand how easy it really is to learn the guitar and how quickly you can obtain satisfying results. Additionally, there is no better stress reliever from our busy schedules then to be able to sit down and play something to take your mind away from the daily grind.

I love my job! I love teaching guitar to high school students on a full time basis and very much look forward to working with my Academy ADULTS as they grow in their guitar playing.
